Swift Medical has appointed Dwayne Sansone as its new CEO, and Stratos Davlos as its new chief technology officer (CTO).
This follows the company’s hire of Shannon Allen as its new chief operating officer (COO) earlier this year.
The Toronto-based digital health tech company focuses on improving clinical outcomes in care for chronic and acute wounds. Over 4,800 healthcare facilities use its advanced, AI-based tools across the care continuum to boost wound prevention, treatment, and management.
Sansone touts over 25 years of diverse, extensive experience, including expertise in the healthcare industry. His career spans public accounting, Wall Street investment banking, senior leadership positions with top health insurance payors, and serving as a managing director at Virgo.
"I feel privileged to join Swift Medical at this pivotal moment," said Sansone. "Swift Medical has a unique opportunity to transform the way wound care is delivered, and I look forward to working with the team to drive innovation and create value for our partners, providers and patients."
Davlos is a pioneer in artificial intelligence (AI), data, and software development with more than 25 years of experience in his career. He held key roles at Apple, Reliance Jio, and IBM. Davlos is also a prolific inventor—he holds dozens of patents in AI and machine learning.
"I am excited to join Swift Medical and lead its talented team of technologists," said Davlos. "I believe that technology has the power to revolutionize healthcare, and I am committed to leveraging our expertise to improve patient outcomes and enhance the delivery of wound care."
In April, the company revealed it had pocketed $8 million in financing from BDC Capital’s Women in Technology Venture Fund and funds managed by Virgo Investment Group.
"Stratos and Dwayne's appointments mark an exciting new chapter for Swift Medical. Stratos's extensive expertise in AI and technology, coupled with Dwayne's experience in the healthcare industry and strategic leadership, align perfectly with our mission," said Michelle Scarborough, managing partner, Thrive Venture Fund, BDC Capital. "We are confident that with their addition to the leadership team, Swift Medical will continue to innovate and expand its reach, further solidifying their position as a leader in digital wound care solutions."
