Wytech Industries has hired Robert Roche for the newly created position of chief operating officer. Roche also has been appointed to the company’s board of directors.
Wytech makes wire and tubular components used in devices for the cardiology, neurology, peripheral intervention, vascular surgery and other markets. The company has manufacturing plants in Rahway, N.J., and Broomfield, Colo.
Roche will be responsible for Wytech’s operations in New Jersey and Colorado and will work closely with the management teams in each plant as the company positions itself for future growth.
Roche previously served as chief operating officer and director of Katahdin Industries, a provider of close tolerance coating applications and specialized metal finishing technologies to the medical device industry. Prior to that, he was a co-founder, president, CEO and director of Tegra Medical in Franklin, Mass., a large medical contract manufacturer serving the minimally invasive and orthopedic markets. During his nine year tenure, he expanded the company’s global reach through multiple acquisitions, geographic expansion into Costa Rica and by pioneering and launching a cutting-edge rapid prototyping and pilot production development center fueling new business development creating additional sales channels.
